Synopsis

An imaginary friend named Abby is left lost and alone when her kid outgrows her. However, with the help of a support group for imaginary friends, she finds there may be more to her story.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR â€‹â€‹

​

Shianna Whitner is a filmmaker from Greenville, South Carolina. She studied at Converse College, earning an MFA in Creative Writing: Fiction and a BFA in Creative and Professional Writing with a theatre minor.

​

Her first short film, Imagine Abby, was created for the 2024 Made in the Carolinas film contest, with a theme of "Just Kidding". The film won Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actress.

 

Imagine Abby also screened at Bridgeway Station during the SC 48 Hour Film Project's Networking event in September 2024.

Shianna also participated in the 2024 SC 48 Hour Film Project as a production assistant for the winning team, Sefecit Films. She has volunteered at the Tryon Film Festival and is an active participant in her local film community.
